[origin: CA2815874A1] The subject matter of the invention relates to a method for dewatering a fibrous material web (4), wherein fibrous material is applied via a headbox (2) on at least one wire (12) and is subsequently dewatered in order to form a fibrous material web (4). Following the wire section, the resulting fibrous material web (4) is dewatered by several presses, wherein the first press (21) through which the fibrous material web (4) is guided following the headbox (2) is equipped with a double nip. The first press (21) is formed by a wire roll (15) and two couch rolls (16) which are each pressed against the wire roll (16) for forming a nip. The subject matter of the invention also relates to a corresponding device for carrying out the method.
