The ladder base structure (F) has a swiveling ground rod (5) which is slidably mounted at guide (4) attached to ladder connecting element. The ground rod is pivotally moved from a non-use position to an intermediate position, and is moved from intermediate position to use position at which the rod is inserted into ground. An independent claim is included for a ladder.

Leiterfuß (F) für eine Leiter, mit welchem die Leiter auf einem Untergrund, zum Beispiel auf dem Erdboden aufstellbar ist, wobei der Leiterfuß (F) wenigstens einen schwenkbaren Erdspieß (5) aufweist, wobei der Erdspieß (5) zwischen einer ersten Stellung, in welcher er sich in einer Nichtbenutzungsposition befindet, und einer zweiten Stellung schwenkbar ist, wobei der Erdspieß (5) zugleich verschiebbar angeordnet ist und der Erdspieß (5) zwischen der zweiten Stellung und einer dritten Stellung, in welcher er sich in einer Benutzungsposition befindet, verschiebbar ist.
