Abstract (en)
The household apparatus (100) has a horizontal axles pivotable door (1) for closing a treatment space provided with a door spring (5). The door spring is provided for limiting the movement of the door by downward pivoting of the door. A sensor (10) is used to monitor the function of the door spring. A deceleration unit (11) is activated if the failure of the door spring is detected by the sensor, and is configured to brake the movement of the door by downward pivoting the door. An independent claim is included for method for operating household apparatus.

Haushaltgerät (100), insbesondere Geschirrspüler, Dampfgarer oder Backofen, mit einer um eine horizontal verlaufende Achse schwenkbaren Tür (1) zum Verschluss eines Behandlungsraums , welche mit einer Türfeder (5) versehen ist, die dazu dient, die Bewegung der Tür (1) beim Herunterschwenken abzubremsen, und mit einem Sensor (10), mit dem die Funktionsfähigkeit der Türfeder (5) überwacht werden kann, und einem zusätzlichen Entschleunigungsmittels (11), welches im Falle eines durch den Sensor (10) erkannten Versagens der Türfeder (5) aktiviert wird und geeignet ist, die Bewegung der Tür (1) beim Herunterschwenken abzubremsen.
