Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2636355A1] The household apparatus (100) has a horizontal axles pivotable door (1) for closing a treatment space provided with a door spring (5). The door spring is provided for limiting the movement of the door by downward pivoting of the door. A sensor (10) is used to monitor the function of the door spring. A deceleration unit (11) is activated if the failure of the door spring is detected by the sensor, and is configured to brake the movement of the door by downward pivoting the door. An independent claim is included for method for operating household apparatus.
