[origin: GB2485399A] A container is disclosed, comprising a container body (fig 1, ref 2) having an inner surface formed from a first non-plastics material, preferably metal, e.g. steel, a neck (fig 1, ref 4) forming a mouth of the container, and a lid removably attachable to the neck (4). A layer 24 of a second non-plastics material is formed across a surface of the lid facing the inside of the container body when the lid is attached to the neck (4). The layer 24 of the second non-plastics material extends across the mouth of the container (1) so as to form a seal with the neck (4) of the container (1) when the lid is attached to the neck (4). The lid includes a straw like sipper 28 made of a third non-plastics material mounted in an opening formed in the lid. The layer 24 of the second non-plastics material and the sipper 28 are disposed so as to form a fluid-tight connection between them. The sipper 28 may be formed of silicone. The container (1) may have a plastic body with only the inner surface being non-plastic. A method for manufacturing the container (1) using a stretch technique is also disclosed. Preferably the container (1) is put to storing drinks. It is an aim of the invention to prevent potable liquids coming into contact with plastics, and prevent them being contaminated with bisphenol-A (BPA).
