[origin: WO2012063159A1] The invention is based on a heating apparatus, in particular a hob heating apparatus, with at least one heating connection (10a, 12a, 14a, 16a; 10b, 12b, 14b, 16b) for at least one heating element (18a, 20a, 22a, 24a; 18b, 20b, 22b) and at least one frequency unit (26a, 28a; 26b, 28b). In order to provide a heating apparatus of the generic type with relatively high operational reliability, it is proposed that the heating apparatus comprises a protective unit (30a; 30b), which is provided for determining the existence of a conducting path between the frequency unit (26a, 28a; 26b, 28b) and the heating connection (10a, 12a, 14a, 16a; 10b, 12b, 14b, 16b).
