[origin: EP2638986A1] The method involves loading a workpiece support (5) of machine tool (1) with a metal workpiece (2) e.g. metal sheet. The workpiece lying on workpiece support is processed by processing device e.g. punch (3a) in order to produce deformations (15) on workpiece. A laid fiber scrim (16) is placed on workpiece lying on workpiece support in the area of deformations. The laid fiber scrim is connected to workpiece by processing workpiece by processing device. An independent claim is included for machine tool for producing fiber-metal composite workpiece.
