[origin: WO2012065677A1] Filling element (1) for free-jet filling of bottles (2) or similar containers with a liquid filler, having at least one filler outlet (8) which is provided on a filling-element housing (5) and via which, during the filling operation, the liquid filler, controlled by a liquid valve (9), flows as a free jet into the respective container arranged with its container mouth (2.1) under the filler outlet (8), the cross section of the jet being equal or substantially equal to the effective cross section of the opening of the filler outlet (8), and having a container support (18) for holding the respective container underneath the filler outlet (8), specifically with the container mouth (2.1) at an axial distance from the filler outlet (8) relative to a vertical filling-element axis (FA). The filling element also comprises a filler- guiding and limiting element (20, 20a) which, at least during the free-jet filling operation, is arranged between the filling-element housing (5) and the container and at least partially surrounds the filling jet (3).
