[origin: WO2012065847A2] The invention relates to a housing for an electrical continuous flow heater having a mounting frame for receiving at least one heating block and having internal pipework for supplying cold water to the heating block and for removing hot water from the heating block and having a hood for protecting the equipment parts from damage, wherein the mounting frame in the vertical installed position has an upper pair of passages and a lower pair of passages each having two passages to respectively receive a cold water inlet element and a hot water outlet element for connecting the internal pipework to a water fitting on the wall, and wherein by a 180° rotation the hood opens one pair of passages and closes the other pair of passages. An electric continuous flow heater according to the invention has a housing according to the invention. Such a continuous flow heater can be used in the upright mounted position both as an under-counter appliance and also as an over-counter appliance.
