The packaging machine (1) has a sealing station (3) for sealing a package having a trough and a cover film. The sealing station comprises a sealing tool that includes an evacuation aperture for discharging the atmosphere, and a gas flushing aperture for supplying a gas volume flow. The evacuation aperture is arranged on the same side of sealing tool as the gas flushing aperture.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Verpackungsmaschine (1) mit einer Siegelstation (3) zum Siegeln einer Verpackung (20), die eine Mulde (30) und eine Deckelfolie (8) umfasst und wenigstens zwei Seiten (23, 25) aufweist, wobei die Siegelstation (3) ein Siegelwerkzeug (22) mit wenigstens je einer Evakuierungsöffnung (26) zum Abführen der Atmosphäre und je einer Begasungsöffnung (24) zum Zuführen eines Gasvolumenstroms (27) umfasst.
