[origin: EP2641835A1] The packaging machine (1) has a sealing station (3) for sealing a package having a trough and a cover film. The sealing station comprises a sealing tool that includes an evacuation aperture for discharging the atmosphere, and a gas flushing aperture for supplying a gas volume flow. The evacuation aperture is arranged on the same side of sealing tool as the gas flushing aperture.
