[origin: EP2642058A2] The composite profile has an insulating strip (1) of a plastic, which is arranged between two metal profiles (2,3). The plastic insulating strip is produced by providing the insulating strips and hardening the plastic in a hardening process, particularly a non-thermal hardening process. The hardening process is selected from an electron beam hardening, radiation crosslinking, particularly electron beam crosslinking, or laser hardening. An insulation foam of plastic is provided between the metal profiles. The plastic material of the insulating foam is produced by providing a foamed plastic. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a composite profile.
