[origin: WO2012069354A1] The invention relates to a hair iron (1), in particular a straightener, comprising two arms (2, 3) which are pivotally mounted on each other and between which the hair is drawn during ironing. It is essential to the invention that the hair iron (1) has at least three separate heating plates (4, 4', 4a, 4b), which can be temperature-controlled or operated in a preferably separate manner, on at least one arm (2, 3). A hair iron (1) with different temperature ranges can thereby be provided, a markedly improved hairdressing result being achievable using said hair iron.
