Abstract (en)
A heatable smoking article (2) comprises: an aerosol-forming substrate (6) comprising at least 5% by weight of an aerosol former; a first segment (8) adjacent the aerosol-forming substrate (6) and abutting an end of the aerosol-forming substrate at an interface (30); and a wrapper (12) circumscribing at least a part of the heatable smoking article (2). At least one circumferential, impervious band (32) is provided on a surface of the wrapper (12), wherein the at least one impervious band (32) is provided at least in the region of the interface (30) between the aerosol-forming substrate (6) and the first segment (8) and is formed of a layer of one or more film-forming compounds.
