[origin: EP2645492A1] The cutting tool (1) has a holding element (2) for holding a flat cable (4). A cutter (3) includes cutting element (30) for producing cutting opening in signal transmission line (41) of flat cable. The holding element and cutter are relatively moved with each other between a loading position at which the flat cable is held in the holding element, and a cutting position at which opening is formed in flat cable. The holding element has aligning element (20) which aligns the flat cable in cutter. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a cutting pliers; and (2) a cutting kit.
