[origin: WO2012072667A1] The invention is directed to a burner comprising (a) a burner pipe, (b) mixing means arranged in the burner pipe for mixing an oxygen-containing gas and a fuel gas and for discharging the resulting gas mixture within the burner pipe; and (c) stabilising means downstream of the mixing means in the centre of the burner pipe, wherein the stabilising means comprises a conically shaped body which widens in flow direction.
