The box (1) has side walls (2, 3) pivotably connected to a bottom for forming the box that is open to the top in a folded-open state. A holding element (4) is arranged on one of the side walls, and an axis (5) is rotatably supported on another side wall. The axis exhibits a cross-section that deviates from a circular section on axis ends (5a, 5b), which lock the side walls in a rotational position and unlock the side walls in another rotational position. The axis ends exhibit a cross-section in rectangular shape with circular edge, S-shape, oval-shape, elliptical-shape, or hook-shape.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Klappbox (1), umfassend einen Boden und mit dem Boden schwenkbar verbundene erste und zweite Seitenwände (2, 3), die mit dem Boden in einem aufgeklappten Zustand eine nach oben offene Box bilden, ferner zumindest ein auf einer ersten Seitenwand (2) angeordnetes Halteelement (4) und zumindest eine auf einer zweiten Seitenwand (3) drehbar gelagerte Achse (5), wobei die zumindest eine Achse (5) an zumindest einem Achsende (5a, 5b) einen von der Kreisform abweichenden Querschnitt aufweist und das zumindest eine Achsende (5a, 5b) in einer ersten Drehstellung mit dem Halteelement (4) die erste mit der zweiten Seitenwand (2, 3) verriegelt und in einer zweiten Drehstellung besagte Seitenwände (2, 3) entriegelt.
