Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012076025A1] The invention provides a grease composition comprising: (a) a polymer thickened grease; (b) an acid having a pKa in the range of 2-7 wherein the pKa is measured in water at 25°C; and (c) a metal salt. The invention further provides a mechanical component having a metal surface onto which a layer of the grease composition according to the invention has been applied. In addition, the invention relates to the use of the present grease composition for reconditioning the lubrication of a mechanical component having a metal surface; and the use of the present grease composition for protecting a mechanical component having a metal surface against corrosion, wear or anti-fretting. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the present grease composition.
