Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012076116A1] The invention relates to a method for improving the thermal insulation of a hollow-chamber profiled element, in particular a window or door hollow-chamber profiled element. The hollow-chamber profiled element, which has at least one hollow chamber, is shaped in the course of an extrusion process. The thermal insulation is improved with the aid of at least one separate insulating profiled element. For this purpose, a jacket profiled element of the insulating profiled element is produced in the course of an extrusion process, wherein the jacket profiled element is filled with foam material and wherein the insulating profiled element thus produced is inserted into a hollow chamber. The invention further relates to a hollow-chamber profiled element.
