[origin: WO2012076088A1] The invention relates to a container handling installation (1), in which containers (7), such as bottles or similar and also cans are transported in a transport direction by means of transport elements, said transport elements having centring and/or holding elements (3, 4) for clamping the respective container (7) and the container handling installation (1) has at least one inspection device (8) for checking bottles or similar containers (7) for unwanted foreign matter, said inspection device (8) being connected to an evaluation unit (18). The invention is characterised in that the inspection device (8) is designed as an integral component of the transport element and/or the centring and/or holding element (3, 4) thereof and as a piezo sensor (8) and in that said device is provided with an excitation element which induces each container (7) to be inspected to move in a direction of movement and which cancels and/or reverses said movement. The inspection device (8) can be connected to the container (7) in such a way that the latter can be moved together with the inspection device (8) in the respective direction of movement and in the transport direction.
