Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012076549A1] The invention relates to a protective ballistic radome for a satellite antenna (10), said satellite antenna being capable of turning about a rotational axis OZ. The ballistic radome comprises: a circular ring-shaped mounting (44) having an axis of revolution RR', which is to coincide with the rotational axis OZ of the satellite antenna, the circular mounting having a lower base (70) and an upper portion (72) in planes that are parallel or perpendicular to the axis RR', respectively, an annular groove (76) having an axis of revolution that coincides with the axis RR' and opening onto the upper portion (72) of the circular mounting (44), a set of n contiguous walls (P1, P2,....Pi,... Pn) having upper ends (50) and lower ends (52) in planes that are parallel or perpendicular to the axis RR', respectively, i being the rank of the wall, n being a number greater than 1, the n walls being inserted, by the lower ends (52) thereof, into the annular groove (76) of the circular mounting (44) in order to form a ballistic wall (54), in the form of a tube with a circular cross-section and having the same axis of revolution RR', around said satellite antenna. The invention can be used as protection against impacts for satellite antennas for providing mobile links.
