The method involves loading coolant from a coolant circuit to heat accumulator (2) or unloading the coolant from the heat accumulator into the coolant circuit, when a valve (11) is opened. The loading or unloading of the heat accumulator is controlled or regulated as a function of temperature of the coolant in the circuit or in the heat accumulator, or a temperature difference of the coolant in the circuit and the heat accumulator. The temperature of the coolant in the circuit is a coolant temperature in an internal combustion engine or at the input- or output of the engine.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Kreislaufs mit einem Wärmespeicher, mit einem Kühlmittelkreislauf, einem Wärmespeicher in einer Leitung des Kreislaufs und zumindest einem Ventil und einer Pumpe, wobei bei geöffnetem Ventil mittels der Pumpe Kühlmittel aus dem Kühlmittelkreislauf in den Wärmespeicher ladbar ist oder aus dem Wärmespeicher in den Kühlmittelkreislauf entladbar ist, wobei das Beladen oder Entladen des Wärmespeichers gesteuert oder geregelt als Funktion einer Temperaturdifferenz einer Temperatur des Kühlmittels im Kreislauf und einer Temperatur des Kühlmittels im Wärmespeicher erfolgt.
