Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012079936A2] The invention relates to a method for operating an electric hand tool (10) driven by an electric motor, comprising an overload protection for protecting at least one component (12, 30) of the electric hand tool (10) against thermal overload. According to the invention, during the operation of the electric hand tool (10), a current thermal energy content of the component (12, 30) is determined on the basis of a current energy inflow (E_i) and a current energy outflow (E_o) and is compared to a thermal model of the at least one component (12, 30), wherein the electric hand tool (10) is switched off when a critical value (T_krit) of the energy content is reached and/or exceeded, and wherein, at least in a range close to the critical value (T_krit), the energy inflow (E_i) and/or the energy outflow (E_o) are controlled by means of closed loop or open loop control depending on at least one operating parameter which influences the thermal energy content of the at least one component (12, 30).
