Abstract (en)
A seal for a turbine system includes a rotor 28, a bowl region 40 and a stator assembly 29 having a tip strip 46 disposed proximate the rotor 28. Also included is a packing head 48 disposed proximate the tip strip 46. Further included is a flex seal 60 having a first end portion 62 fixedly secured to at least one of the tip strip 46 and the packing head 48, with a second end portion 64 slidably engaged with at least one of the tip strip 46 and the packing head 48.
