In order to provide a particularly lightweight shoe, according to the invention the shoe upper (3) comprises: a woven fabric structure (4) made of fabric threads (5), wherein the woven fabric structure (4) is designed as a three-dimensional structure, which has a number of higher-lying points (6) and a number of low-lying points (7), and a cover layer (8), wherein the cover layer (8) is connected (9) at least to a part of the higher-lying points (6) of the woven fabric structure (4). The invention further relates to a method for producing a shoe.
