[origin: WO2012084245A1] A method for operating a bristle-cluster-separating apparatus makes provision for the cluster remover (22) to be coupled to a drive (24) and for the drive to be moved at such a speed as to achieve a frequency of at least 1100 cycles/minute for the cluster removers (22) moving back and forth. The speed of the groove (32) for receiving the bristle clusters and the transfer region between the groove (32) and the bristle reservoir (14) are selected such that the residence time of the groove (32) in the transfer region per cycle is greater than 10 miliseconds, preferably 12 milliseconds. A description is also given of a bristle-cluster-separating apparatus.
