[origin: WO2012084681A1] A transport and handling system comprising a box for transporting and handling objects, such as mail items, and a picking appliance for use with the box and for containing mail items to be picked from the picking appliance when the mail is delivered. The box is designed for accommodation of at least one picking appliance (18) for use when picking individual objects, such as letters and similar mail items. The picking appliance includes at least one removable partition (19) and one supporting device (20; 81). The partition (19) is slidably arranged on the supporting device (20; 81) and is provided with fastening means for fastening it to the supporting device. The supporting device is provided with mounting means (26, 27, 28, 29; 86, 87, 88, 89) for mounting the picking appliance in the box.
