Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2656762A2] The dryer (1) has a housing (2) in which a cavity (4) is accessed from outside via a housing opening (3). The cavity is formed for retaining hand extremities to be dried in the cavity by an air flow (S). A fan (5) generates the air flow. A reduction part (6) reduces germs e.g. bacteria, in the air flow and designed as a device i.e. nozzle, for delivery of a germ-reducing substance into air flow and/or a plasma or ion source and/or a radiation source e.g. UV radiator. The plasma or ion source is excited by microwaves or radio frequencies.
