The cutting machine (1) has a table (4) for placing the material on a table surface (5) of the table, a movable jacking beam (7) arranged above the table surface and an element which covers the jacking beam on its side facing the table surface and is connected with the jacking beam. The material is clamped between the jacking beam and the table during lowering the jacking beam. A movable blade (6) for cutting through the material is arranged above the table surface and adjacent to the jacking beam and the element. The blade has a cutting plane perpendicular to table surface. The element has a light guiding region to the cutting plane and a light source for supplying light in the light guiding region.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schneidemaschine (1) zum Schneiden von gestapeltem, blattförmigem Gut (21), mit einem Tisch (4) zum Auflegen des Guts (21) auf einer Tischfläche (5) des Tisches (4), einem oberhalb der Tischfläche (5) angeordneten, verfahrbaren Pressbalken (7), einem Element (25), das den Pressbalken (7) auf seiner der Tischfläche (5) zugewandten Seite abdeckt und mit dem Pressbalken (7) verbunden ist, wobei das Gut (21) beim Absenken des Pressbalkens (7) zwischen diesem und dem Tisch (4) klemmbar ist, sowie mit einem oberhalb der Tischfläche (5) und benachbart zum Pressbalken (7) und dem Element (25) angeordneten, verfahrbaren Messer (6) zum Durchtrennen des Guts (21), mit einer Schneidebene (23) des Messer (6) senkrecht zur Tischfläche (5). Bei einer solchen Schneidemaschine ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass das Element (25) einen mindestens zur Schneidebene (23) hin lichtleitenden Bereich (30) aufweist, sowie mindestens eine Lichtquelle (28) zum Einspeisen von Licht in diesen lichtleitenden Bereich (30) des Elements (25) vorgesehen ist. Eine derart gestaltete Schneidemaschine gewährleistet eine qualitativ besonders gute Schnittandeutung bei nahezu auf das zu schneidende Gut abgesenkter Anordnung von Pressbalken und Element.
