[origin: EP2657163A1] The method involves providing a sewing station with an active connection to a stitching saddle. The stitching saddle is provided with an active connection to a transporting system. The printed sheets are supplied to the stitching saddle, using the transporting system, in a vertical plane and in a horizontal plane relative to the stitching saddle. The printed sheets are supplied directly onto the stitching saddle or to a region of stitching saddle, in the vertical plane. The printed sheets are supplied to the sewing station resting astride the stitching saddle. An independent claim is included for a thread stitching machine for carrying out process for processing printed sheets into book blocks.
