Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012089774A1] The invention relates to a method and device for wetting particle material (1), in particular fibers and/or chips, with a fluid (8), in particular in the course of producing material plates, wherein the particle material (1) is introduced into a fall duct (4) by means of a metering device (2) and the particle material (1) forms a particle material curtain (5) in the fall duct (4), wherein the depth (t) of the particle material curtain (5) can be set and a fluid is applied to the particle material curtain by means of at least one row of nozzles (6) arranged in the fall duct (4). According to the invention for the method, the moisture and/or the presence of fluid drops outside of the particle material curtain (5) is monitored in the fall duct (4). A device suitable therefor is characterized in that at least one viewing window or one detector (8) for determining the moisture and/or for detecting the presence of fluid drops in the fall duct (4) is arranged in the fall duct (4) in order to monitor the moisture and/or the presence of fluid drops outside the particle material curtain (5).
