[origin: WO2012089420A1] The invention is based on a hand-held laser distance measuring device comprising at least one laser unit (12a; 12b) which is provided for determining a first distance by means of a laser beam (14a; 14b, 16b) in a first relative direction (R1 a-R11a; R1 b, R2b). It is proposed that the laser unit (12a; 12b) be provided for determining at least one second distance, near instantaneously, by means of a laser beam (14a; 14b, 16b) in at least one second relative direction (R1 a-R11a; R1 b, R2b) which differs from the first relative direction (R1 a-R11a; R1 b, R2b).
