[origin: EP2660069A1] The method involves determining values with measured book thickness and a thickness (36) of a book cover (18), relating to a book block (30), and transmitting to a pressing device, a re-forming device and pressing plates (28) to finish block. A forming tool (22) of re-forming device is selected based on values that meet operational requirements for processing of a front cut, and is moved in a plane or in space to operating position to form front cut of the block. A movement sequence of the pressing plates, is controlled based on book thickness and book cover thickness.
