[origin: EP2660836A2] The system has a discharge conveyor for transporting cut metal sheets (1-5), and a stacking station that is provided with several layers of transformer core (6). A polygonal rotary stacker receives layer of metal sheets, and a transport apparatus for rotary stacker transports metal sheets from a receiving station to a storage position. A height adjustable stacking device stores the metal sheets. The stacking device is provided with a driven gear. An independent claim is included for a method for operating transformer core stacking system.
