[origin: EP2664575A1] The pliers (1) have a slab seizable in a slab receiving area (51) on two sides of a longitudinal vertical plane (50). Grab straps (60-63) are spaced from each other along the longitudinal vertical planes for seizing a slab (2). The grab straps are mutually and operatively connected with one another at grab equipments (12, 13) such that the grab straps are transverse to the longitudinal vertical plane, where the working gripping forces are variably applied on the grab straps that are arranged opposite to each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for adapting slab pliers.
