[origin: WO2012097390A1] The invention relates to a moving walkway (1) or an escalator having a handrail (12) and a guide (16) for the handrail (12). The handrail (12) is moved, driven by motor, along the longitudinal axis thereof, at said guide. The handrail (12) is guided at the guide (16) along an arcuate portion of the guide (16), rotated about the longitudinal axis thereof, whereby it can be guided more easily around curves (3, 4, 5, 6) of a moving walkway (1).
