[origin: WO2012097900A1] The invention relates to a method and a system for centrally producing user-specific user interfaces for controlling and selecting interactive media applications, particularly for interactive television. In this case, the system according to the invention has, at each user end, an input unit (E), which is used to input (1) control signals for controlling and selecting the interactive media applications, and also an output unit (D), particularly a television set, which is then used to display an appropriate, user-specific user interface. Following the process of registration of the input unit (E) and the output unit (D) with a central service, the control signals are transmitted (2) via a communication network (KN) to a central user interface server (UIS) in the system according to the invention. The user interface server (UIS) initiates (3) a user interface production unit (UIG) which takes the control signals as a basis for generating (4) user-specific elements for the user interface. A mixing component (MK) in the system adds (5) non-user-specific elements which are provided by a database (MA) in the system. The user-specific user interface produced is then forwarded (7) as a data stream from a central streaming server (ST) in the system according to the invention to the output unit (D) and is displayed (8) by the latter. The method according to the invention and the system according to the invention therefore have the advantage that user interfaces can be implemented and displayed on a user-specific basis without great complexity and largely independently of platform.
