[origin: WO2012100990A1] The invention relates to a device (1) and a method for metering and/or feeding in liquid colorants and/or functional additives, in particular odorants. The device (1) comprises a plurality of tanks (2.1, 2.2,...2.6), a plurality of primary pumps (3.1, 3.2,...3.6) which are assigned to the tanks (2.1, 2.2,...2.6) and a colorant mixing device (4). The colorant mixing device has a plurality of valves (5.1, 5.2,...5.6) with valve inlets (6.1, 6.2,...6.6) and valve outlets (7.1, 7.2,...7.6), a collecting chamber (19) in a collecting block (10), which collecting chamber (19) is connected to the valve outlets (7.1, 7.2,...7.6) via very small volumes (18.1, 18.2,...18.6) on its inlet side, a mixer (8) which is connected to the collecting chamber (19), and a dispensing line (9) which is connected to the mixer (8). The primary pumps (3.1, 3.2,...3.6) are connected in each case to a valve inlet (6.1, 6.2,...6.6). The throughflow volume of the very small volumes (18.1, 18.2,...18.6) is in each case at most 10 cm3, preferably considerably smaller. According to the present invention, a further pump for feeding in liquid colorants or additives into a polymer melt can be dispensed with. In addition, it is prevented that colorants or additives run back into unused connections or accumulate in dead spaces, which could otherwise lead to colorant carryovers in a colorant composition which is changed later.
