[origin: EP2669200A1] The device has a conveyor star for conveying containers (2). A closing element closes the conveyed container. A nozzle carrier (4) includes upwardly oriented nozzles (40) for injecting flush gas into closures (3), and downwardly oriented nozzles (42) for injecting the flush gas into a head chamber volume (24) of the containers. The nozzle carrier is arranged outside a sphere of the closing element. The nozzle carrier lies outside or within a pitch circle. Two sterilized filtering candles are provided before the nozzle carrier.
