Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2669901A1] The cable or wire has an electrical or optical conductor (1) enclosed by outer sheaths. The outer sheaths are used as a display device for displaying a wear state and comprise a first polymer mixture layer (4) forming an outer surface of the cable. A second polymer mixture layer (5) is arranged within the first polymer mixture layer. The second polymer mixture layer constantly exhibits a color different from a color of the first mixture layer, where color is contrasting color or complementary color. A third polymer mixture layer (6) is arranged within the second mixture layer. The color is purple, blue or black, green, yellow, red and orange. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an electrical device with a cable or a wire.
