[origin: EP2669903A1] The surge arrester (1) has a conductor element (2) that is clamped between end fittings (5) in an encapsulated housing with an electric duct (10) that is arranged coaxially to longitudinal axis of conductor element and the electrical connection from the conductor element to the duct is routed through a through-hole (23) in the end fitting. The housing is filled with insulating gas and is formed fluid-tight. The housing has a cover (4) on which end fitting is arranged, and has a pressure equalization device for equalizing the pressure inside the housing.
