Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012104279A1] The invention relates to a rubber composite, in particular a tyre, reinforced with a sized textile material, such as a fibre or film, at least part of which is covered with an adhesive layer that can bond directly by means of curing (cross-linking) to an unsaturated rubber matrix, such as natural rubber. The invention is characterised in that the layer comprises an adhesive composition or thermoplastic adhesive in the liquid or solid state, which is based on at least one unsaturated styrene thermoplastic elastomer (TPS) and a poly(p-phenylene ether) (PPE). Advantageously, such an adhesive based on unsaturated TPS-based and PPE can replace a traditional RFL-type textile adhesive. The invention also relates to the use of such an adhesive for bonding a textile material to an unsaturated rubber, in particular unsaturated diene rubber. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing such a composite.
