Abstract (en)

An angle adjusting/positioning device includes first and second sleeves (11,21) fixed to a backrest (6) and a seat (7) of a chair. The first sleeve (11) has a first axle hole (13) and a first toothed portion (14). A second sleeve (21) includes a second axle hole, a second toothed portion (24), and a positioning portion (26). A third sleeve (411) has a third axle hole and an actuating portion (414). An axle (5) extends through the first, second, and third axle holes. A handle (42) fixed to the third sleeve is operable to move the actuating portion relative to the positioning portion, causing the second toothed portion to engage with or disengage from the first toothed portion. An angular position of the backrest relative to the seat is adjustable when the second toothed portion disengages from the first toothed portion. The angular position of the backrest is fixed when the second toothed portion engages with the first toothed portion.
