[origin: EP2672330A1] The mechanism has a disk (12) swiveling around a center of the mechanism and comprising an image (14) of the sun and images (16) of illuminated parts of the moon, where centers of the image are aligned with a center of the disk. Another transparent disk (20) is equipped with another image (18) of the moon and involved in superposition with the former disk. The disks are arranged to be synchronously driven to represent the respective positions of the sun, the earth and the moon, and to represent phases of the moon by the superposition of the images of the illuminated parts and the moon image.
