Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012110584A1] The invention relates to a method for separating a stack of value documents, said stack of value documents being arranged in a position of separation. A draw-off element (206) is then driven such as to transport at least one outermost item of the stack of value documents in a separation direction (P2) towards a separation gap (224) defined between a transport element (220) and a counter-rotating element (222). The transport element (220) is also driven such as to transport the value document in the separation direction (P3). A sensor unit (240) arranged downstream of the separation gap (224) determines the number of the value documents drawn-off and transported through the separation gap (224). The draw-off element (206), the transport element (220) and/or the counter-rotating element (222) are controlled depending on the number of drawn-off value documents so determined.
