Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012113531A1] The clamping apparatus is used to clamp workpieces made of wood, plastic and the like. The workpieces are clamped between a workpiece support (22, 23) and a clamping element (8), the height of which can be adjusted relative to the workpiece support (22, 23) in order to clamp the workpieces. The workpieces themselves rest on at least one stop. In order that workpieces of an extremely wide range of widths and cross-sectional shapes can be clamped in a simple way such that highly accurate machining of the workpiece in the clamped position is ensured, the stop can be positioned automatically in order to match the width of the workpiece. As a result, the handling when using the clamping apparatus is very simple. Each workpiece can be assigned the individual optimal clamping dimension thereof by program. Backing the workpiece with spacers between the former and the stop is not necessary.
