[origin: GB2488408A] A degradation assembly comprising a pick insert 110 and holder, the insert comprising a tip 112, a coupler shank 114 for moveably coupling the insert with the holder, and an alignment mechanism operable to urge the tip towards an aligned orientation within the holder. The alignment mechanism comprising the insert tip axis X being laterally displaced from the axis of the insert coupler shank Y, such that when acted upon by external forces during its use the insert can rotate within the holder. The assembly may have means to limit the extent of the rotation of the insert.
