[origin: WO2012113669A1] The invention relates to a method for heating a delivery system (1) for providing reducing agents in an exhaust gas treatment device (2) of an internal combustion machine (3) having a plurality of electrically driven components (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11). The method comprises at least the following steps: a) determining at least one temperature in the delivery system (1), b) determining a heat energy required for error-free operation of the delivery system (1) in a time interval (4), and c) introducing the required heat energy into the delivery system (1) by operating the electrically operated components (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) within the time interval. The electrically operated components (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) are activated at a time offset of at least 30 seconds in each case. The required energy is determined so that at least four times the quantity of reducing agent to be delivered per hour is provided in liquid form after the time interval (4). The method according to the invention effectively prevents overloading a vehicle electrical system of a motor vehicle (19) when heating the delivery system (1). In addition, ice cavity formation in the reducing agent in the tank (16) is prevented.
