A longitudinal extension of the suspension spring structure exceeds a transverse extension. A base portion (2) is provided with chambers (5) for retaining the suspension spring structures. The chambers are aligned in the longitudinal extension along longitudinal direction (6) of the mattress. An independent claim is included for a mattress system.
