[origin: EP2679389A1] The alignment station (1) has a base body (25) with a holder (27,28) for holding an object to be printed, where a motor (12) is connected to the base body by a transmission (13) for rotating base body around a pivot axis. A brake disk (23) is mounted on the base body, where a braking device is provided with a brake element. The braking device is adapted to press the brake element against the brake disk for inhibiting the possible existing backlash in the transmission. The object to be printed is stable in the holder, such that the axis of rotation is extended through the object to be printed. An independent claim is included for a method for aligning an object to be printed, such as a coin with a printer.
